Around 1970, I visited a Triumph shop near my college and saw a sign that said “I eat, sleep and breathe Triumph motorcycles.” That statement marks the beginning of my passion for motorcycles that has never changed in over 30 years. My first bike was a Honda 350 but my first “big” bike was a 1975 Triumph Trident, a model of which I’ve completely restored and still own. During the restoration, I first encountered powdercoating. I was very impressed with the finish of powder on the frame and various tabs and bits. (I was also unimpressed with the orange peel finish on the side cover and oil tank. These items I painted with good results). In the last 35 years, I’ve owned probably over 40 motorcycles (including 15 Harleys) and tinkered with all of them. I’ve become a pretty good technician on most aspects of motorcycle mechanics.
Over a year ago, I opened a powdercoating shop that is dedicated almost exclusively to motorcycle items. My interest lies in coating frames, wheels or engine items in a decorative way using powder instead of wet paint. I have equipment to media blast and powder coat almost any item. Look through my webpages to see some examples that I’ve completed. Check my price list and you’ll see that my prices are much cheaper than my competitors listed prices. Call or email me if you’re interested in custom coating stock or new wire wheels, customizing your engine covers or coating a frame or swingarm.
